Project LINC Presents Holiday Extravaganza

Project LINC students and staff recently held their annual Holiday Extravaganza. The show, which takes a year to prepare, includes groups at every grade level and a “special” staff performance. Each group chooses their own songs, costumes and dance steps assisted by a staff member. The majority of the props, decorations and costumes are  created by the students and staff. A huge audience attended this year’s performance that included classic holiday music such as “Here Comes Santa Claus”  and “Sleigh Ride.”

“What a great way to start the holiday season!” said Project LINC Site Coordinator Cheryl Stone. “Every year our audience gets bigger and bigger.  I am so proud of my LINC staff and all the students!”

Project LINC is a New York State registered school-aged child care program, sponsored by Jamestown Community Learning Council (JCLC). The program is offered to all children who attend Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. Project LINC stands for “Learning Is Never Complete.” Project LINC operates from 3:00pm to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday, on regularly scheduled full days of school.

Daily activities include: computers, arts & crafts, athletic games, music, dance, karate, and other lessons. Special events include numerous programs provided by a wide variety of community agencies, such as the James Prendergast Library, Dept. of Social Services, Jamestown Police and Fire Dept., Project YES, CASAC, and other local agencies.
