Ring Students Develop ELA Skills

Ring Elementary School second graders in Melissa Schrader’s class recently worked on English Language Arts during their daily workstations.  Students work in small groups on comprehension, phonics, and vocabulary using a variety of methods, including but not limited to research articles, poetry, nonfiction stories, and independent work. Each station lasts approximately 15 minutes, four to five times a week. Class Grandma Barb Colgrove, from the Foster Grandparent Program, also helps students during workstation time developing nonfiction comprehension using Emperor Penguins.
