Persell’s Schoolhouse Rock Live – A Rousing Success!

Persell Middle School’s recently held its annual school musical, Schoolhouse Rock Live!, directed by music teacher Jeaneen Jaynes. The cast, comprised of  7/8 and 5/6 chorus students,  auditioned for speaking parts and solos. Since returning from Spring Break, the students rehearsed every night and  prepared song and dance numbers  during  chorus time.

“The show was awesome and hats off to Mrs. Jaynes for producing such an outstanding play,” said Persell Principal Phil Cammarata. “Obviously, the stars of the show were the students. We are so proud of their tremendous effort!”

The Emmy Award-winning 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series that taught history, grammar, math, science and politics through clever, tuneful songs is not only making a small-screen comeback, instructing a whole new generation to “Unpack Your Adjectives” and “Do The Circulations,” it’s lighting up stages everywhere as a musical.
