Honors and Recognition at the JHS Spring Band Concert

 

Richard Lundquist, CCMTA Historian and presenter of the plaque; Alvan Johnson, class of 1971, Nephew of the Goransons; Sarah Leon, Jacobson Scholarship recipient; Meghan Murray, JHS Director of Bands; Jerry Costantini, 2012 JHS Band Hall of Fame Recipient.

Jamestown High School Band recently presented awards, and also received recognition from NYSSMA,  at their Annual Spring Band Concert. Honors and recognition included:

 

Sarah Leon, who received one of two annual $1,000 scholarships in honor of Charles L. and Dorothy M. Jacobson.

On the 80th anniversary of its founding, NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) recognized Jamestown High School in honor of Arthur R. Goranson, JHS Band Director and founder of NYSSMA. A plaque was presented to the JHS Band on behalf of NYSSMA and its current president, Marc Greene.

Jerry Costantini was named the 2012 JHS Band Hall of Fame inductee for his outstanding volunteer work with the JHS Band.
