Students Learn Riding the School Bus is Fun by Participating in Practice Runs to Fletcher Elementary School

In preparation for the upcoming start to this school year, some new Fletcher School students participated in a practice bus run. District administration and staff greeted K-4 students and parents at the various bus stop locations in the neighborhoods.

Students boarded buses and headed to Fletcher, where parents met them at the school. Students and their families enjoyed a night of touring the school, finding their classrooms, and meeting the Fletcher School Staff. Students also learned important tips for school bus safety.

“The Rogers/Fletcher School Transition Team planned the event for the evening,” said Director of Elementary Education Tina Sandstrom.  “With the closing of Rogers School, the goal of the Transition Team for the past year has been to work for a smooth transition for students and families as they enter their new school. We have been looking forward to this practice bus run and Open House to Fletcher and hope that it was helpful to all who participated. We wish them the best for a great school year as they head to their new school, M.J. Fletcher!”
