Washington Teacher Named Promising New Professional in Family & Consumer Sciences

Washington Middle School Family & Consumer Science teacher Sheri Brandes was named Promising New Professional for the State of New York Association of Family and Consumer Science Educators (NYSAFCSE) for the 2011-2012 school year.

Last year, Mrs. Brandes was named the Promising New Professional Award for the Western South Region of New York State.  Each region winner is scored on their application and Best Practice, a formal FACS lesson plan. The NYSAFCSE names one professional each year at the state level and Mrs. Brandes was selected as the best applicant. The Promising New Professional Award is given to teachers that have been teaching for less than seven years and show great potential for teaching with a passion for Family and Consumer Sciences.

Congratulations to Mrs. Brandes on this wonderful award!
