Russian Educators Visit Persell Middle School

Students in Dave Gee’s Math class were recently observed by educators from Perm, Russia. Persell Middle School  hosted seven educators in their building. The teachers were visiting the school as part of a larger visit to the local area. They met with Principal Phil Cammarata for a questions and answer session and then spent the majority of their day in classrooms observing American education.

“We are so interested in seeing an American school. We cannot believe how different it is from our schools,” said the Russian educators. “Your library and technology is so new and up-to-date compared to ours. The teachers we have observed at Persell are so enthusiastic about educating. Many of us are English teachers in Russia and this visit is such a good way to infuse ‘real-life’ into our lessons to our students.”

The Russian teachers will host a Russian dinner for the community at 6 p.m. Saturday at Levant Wesleyan Church.
