Jefferson Staff Holds Basket Raffle as Fundraiser for Lincoln Teacher’s Child

Jefferson Middle School teacher Shannon Volpe spearheaded a Basket Raffle Fundraiser for Lincoln Elementary School third grade teacher Julie Strong. Julie and her husband Curtis’ youngest son Collin was born in November. At  2 months old, he contracted RSV and needed to be hospitalized. While in the hospital, Collin got a bacterial infection in his lungs spending more than three weeks in the hospital. Julie had no sick days available when Collin got sick and this fundraiser will help the family with expenses.

Baskets were donated by Jefferson and Fletcher School staffs, administration staff and local businesses. Baskets include: a lottery basket with 30 lottery tickets, a spa basket filled with pampering items, a $50 cash box, a gift card basket with cards from Little Caesar’s and McDonald’s, coffee and tea basket, grill basket, movie basket with gift cards to AMC and goodies, Tim Horton’s basket and hair and nails basket donated by Elements Salon and Spa.

The drawing will be held on Friday, April 26th and ticket Prices are one ticket = $1, three tickets= $2 and 10 tickets= $5. If anyone is interested in donating, please contact Shannon Volpe at Jefferson Middle School at 484-4411.
