JHS Sophomore Abbie Johnson Wins 1st Place at JCC’s Public Speaking Competition

Jamestown High School sophomore, Abbie Johnson, won 1st Place at the first annual JCC Public Speaking Competition. This year’s topic was: “Is technology tearing society apart or bringing us together?” Each area high school that offers the JCC College Connections Public Speaking course was eligible to enter two contestants. JHS sent Abbie, from Barbi Price’s fall Public Speaking class and Sarah Gibson, from Kathy Ekstrom’s spring Public Speaking class.

JCC assembled a panel of judges and awarded Abbie first prize and $250.00. Congratulations to both Abbie and Sarah for representing JHS in this prestigious competition!
