Jefferson Students Donate to Chautauqua County Humane Society

A love of animals and a need to do something for their community motivated six Jefferson Middle School students, Brittney Lobb, Alayne Schobey, Alyssa Holdridge, Eden McGrath, Courtney Graham and Taylor Austin, to create a “Hat Day” fundraiser for the Chautauqua County Humane Society. The students raised $127.72 by asking fellow students to donate 50 cents to wear a hat during the school day.

“We all love animals and want to help them,” said the group. “We know the animals need so much and we just wanted to give back to our community. We hope to to do a new fundraiser each year during middle and high school with the proceeds going to a different charity year year.”
