Jamestown Public Schools opened today for the 2013-14 school year! Superintendent Tim Mains visited each school in the district throughout the day to meet students and parents.
“I am always very excited for the first day of school but as this is also my first day of school in Jamestown, I am extra excited to be here,” said Superintendent Mains. “I met with my staff yesterday and their enthusiasm was overwhelming. Everyone in the district is ready meet the students and thrilled to begin the new school year.”
Schools held various opening day activities including hand drummers, Christopher Larson and Charlie Cirrito, who greeted Fletcher Elementary School parents and students as they came into the building this morning. A special thanks to the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts for providing the lively, high-energy music to kick-off the school year!
