Bush School Celebrates Mothers with a “Muffins & Mom” Event

The sounds of laughter and conversation from a packed room full of mothers and their daughters echoed through Bush Elementary School on a recent morning before school. The ladies were enjoying a “Muffins with Mom” event sponsored by the Bush School PTA.

“We wanted to hold an event to celebrate Mother’s Day and give students a way to spend time with their mothers,” said Bush Elementary School PTA President Suzette Iacuzzo. “It is also a great way to invite parents into the building and hopefully get them involved in their child’s education in some way.”

The Bush Elementary School PTA holds numerous events and fundraisers for the school throughout the year including: sponsoring the Parents as Reading Partners Program, holding a Father’s Day event, managing a chocolate fundraiser, running the Fall Fun Fair, providing school t-shirts at a low cost, and sponsoring the Secret Santa Shoppe where, this year, every item was $1 and the PTA gave every child in the school $1 to spend in the shop for the holidays.
