Fletcher Elementary School kindergarten teacher, Judy Haskin, combined her students study of author Carle and family involvement. During the month of June, the class did a study of the famous author’s books. Mrs. Haskins and her class read his books and compared and contrasted them including writing a book report on their favorite book. Students also completed an art project based on his books, using the same techniques Mr. Carle uses when he creates his illustrations. As a culminating activity, the parents were invited into the classroom where students presented songs and poems related to Mr. Carle’s books and shared their book reports.
