JHS Government Students Help Out on Election Day

JHS Government students in Tony Dolce’s and Loraine Steffens’ classes recently assisted the Chautauqua County Board of Elections on Election Day. Students greeted and assisted voters during peak, high-traffic poll times in Jamestown. The students went through an intensive training by election trainers including instruction in handheld computers and the use of election district maps.

“It was interesting to participate and help in the Democratic process,” said JHS student-volunteer, Steve Brombacher.

JHS students who volunteered their time are: Christian Edborg, Steve Brombacher, Evan Grey, Elyse Clarke, Lydia Sposato, Skyler Gore, Andrew Latona, Devin Krausse Hamilton, Devin Riley, Tyler Allenson and Ariel Wheaton. They all benefited from the real-life experience in the government process.

“I enjoyed seeing all the people come to vote, and helping out,” said JHS student-volunteer, Andrew Latona.
