Ring School PTA Holds Santa’s Workshop for Students

Ring Elementary School recently held a three-day Santa’s Workshop for the student body. Each student had the opportunity to purchase small gifts for their family members for the holidays. They chose from gifts like toys, jewelry, tools, kitchen items, and books – all for $1 or $2.  The PTA has been shopping since last year looking for the best deals to make the Santa’s Workshop happen.  PTA volunteers helped the students shop and wrap their gifts for their family members.

“The students love to shop for their families. It makes them feel so excited,” said PTA members, Jacquelyn and James Hayes. “It is so important for parents to get involved in their school because you are modeling to your child that school is important. Santa’s Workshop is just one way to get involved at Ring School.”

The Ring PTA supports the school in many others ways including: popping popcorn, running the Fall Festival and Book Fair, covering the cost of buses to the Chautauqua Children’s Safety Education Village, providing and maintaining the laminator and laminating film, sponsoring the Fourth Grade Recognition Program, overseeing school pictures and yearbook sales, honoring staff with a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, paying for new and replacement parts for Ring’s existing playground, and conducting fundraisers to pay for many other endeavors that benefit Ring School students, including the school’s new Primary Playground coming in Spring 2015.
