JHS Celebrates August Graduates

Jamestown High School recently held an August Graduation Ceremony to honor seven graduates: Rander De Los Santos Nunez, Nancy Jo Whalen, Jastic Anzalone, Ericka Patrizi, Sapphire Dean, Joseph DeJesus and Jacob Pujols. The ceremony was held in the Jamestown Board of Education meeting room with family and friends in attendance. Jamestown Board of Education members, Joe DiMaio, Shelly Leathers, Dan Johnson and Nina Karbacka attended the ceremony, along with JHS Principal Mike McElrath, Coordinator of the Erie 2 BOCES Regional Summer School Program and JHS Assistant Principal Dana Williams, and Superintendent Tim O. Mains.

Superintendent Mains held the August Graduation Ceremony to acknowledge the student’s hard work and dedication. “I am thrilled to be here to honor your accomplishments. You deserve this extra recognition. We share, along with your families, a tremendous amount of pride in your accomplishments that reflect positively not only on JPS, but on your dedication to achieve a goal along with your family’s support.”

“Everyone associated with the Jamestown Public Schools is extremely proud of the August 2015 high school graduates,” said Mr. Williams. “This ceremony is very important because it allows the families of the students graduating to celebrate this major accomplishment in their child’s life. It’s also a great example to all students that they can work hard to reach their goals, and just because they may wind up a bit short of a June graduation the important thing is to do what you need to do to graduate. Our district is very fortunate to be able to host the BOCES Regional Summer School Program each year, which affords students the opportunity to acquire the credits and test scores in order to get their diploma.”
