Western NY College Consortium Visits JHS

The Western New York Consortium of Higher Education recently visited Jamestown High School to give juniors and seniors an opportunity to meet with local colleges and ask questions.

“I am interested in going into physical therapy and visited colleges this summer,” said JHS senior Aaron Watson. “ Having the opportunity to meet with colleges at JHS allows me to see whether other colleges might also be a good fit so I can make an educated decision.”

The colleges and universities participating in this year’s visit to JHS included: Alfred State College, Hilbert College, Alfred University, Houghton College, Bryant & Stratton College, Medaille College, Buffalo State College, Niagara County Community College, Canisius College, Niagara University, Daemen College, St. Bonaventure University, D’Youville College, Trocaire College, Erie Community College, University at Buffalo, Fredonia State College, Villa Maria College and Genesee Community College.

“Graduating seniors should explore as many college options as possible before they begin the application process,” said LeAnn Love, JHS Career/Counseling Center. “Western New York offers a wealth of opportunities for our graduates from 2-year to graduate programs. During the Consortium, students are able to talk to admissions representative from nineteen of those colleges to gain information.”
