Washington Middle School Students Help Out the Red Kettle Campaign

Washington Middle School students helped the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Drive for the 15th year by “ringing the bell” at Walmart. Teacher, Joseph Miraglia, organizes the event every holiday season.

“I think it is so important for students to give back to the community,” said Mr. Miraglia. “Every year I ask the students if they would like to take part in the Red Kettle Drive and, every year the number of students taking part grows larger and larger. Even in bad weather, we still get a large turnout. The students love to sing Christmas carols as they are ringing the bell and the people of our community really enjoy hearing our students sing. I am very proud of our students at Washington Middle School.”

Students who participated by “ringing the bell” are: Madison Ventura, Haley Spencer, Kaya Mortimer, Nolan Scoma, Ivan DeJesus, Shelby Swindell, Patience Glatt, Kaitlin Brentley, Gianna Melton, Harmony Vega, Aaliyah Burkes, Makayla Sheldon, Kayla Hutchison, Olivia Pinciaro, Christina Peppy and Claire Pumford.
