Large Turnout at JPS District Art Show – Exhibit will Be Open Through 6/6

Large crowds came out for the JPS District Art Show Opening Reception last night. Over 200 pieces of artwork from kindergarten though 12th grade were exhibited to the delight of students and their families. Lincoln Elementary School fourth grader, Ruby Schneider, displayed her “Cave Art” piece from Marygrace Anderson’s class.

“We learned about original cave art first and then created our own. I mixed my own colors, used pastels, drew animal characters and signed my artwork with my hand print like they did on the original cave paintings. I like that we get to display our art because sports are good but it’s nice to show what we can do in art too,” said Ruby at the opening.

The JPS District Art Show will be exhibited at Jefferson Middle School through June 6th. Please visit Jefferson’s main office to gain access to the exhibit.
