For JPS PROMISE Fund, Big Match Day Was Just the Beginning

Due to generous donations given on Chautauqua Region Community Foundation’s Big Match Day (Giving Tuesday), Jamestown Public Schools’ PROMISE Fund was the recipient of $2,125. CRCF matched donations in the amount of $925 for a grand total of $3,050 donated to the Jamestown Schools PROMISE Fund.

“We are so thankful to everyone who donated to the PROMISE Fund on Big Match Day and especially grateful to the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation for matching donations to our fund,” said Dr. Lillian Ney, JPS PROMISE Fund Advisory Board President. “The Community Foundation does so much good work, and this particular initiative was truly awesome. However, even with all of these wonderful donations, the Jamestown Schools PROMISE Fund continues to be in need of contributions to help our students and programs. We wish to continue to ask for donations particularly during this holiday season with our ‘Oh Come, All Ye Grateful’ campaign.”

The Jamestown Schools PROMISE Fund assists in funding projects and programs, not supported by tax dollars, by marshaling community resources to support our students, teachers and schools. Some of the initiatives the PROMISE Fund has funded so far include: a summer LitCamp reading program for elementary school students, providing field trip and speaker experiences to JHS Academy students, helping JHS Honor Society students attend a countywide conference and helping a student participate in the National Future Business Leaders Conference in Atlanta.

The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation hosts the Jamestown Schools PROMISE Funds making all donations tax-deductible.
