Four JHS Artists Chosen for St. Bonaventure Juried Art Show

Artwork from four Jamestown High School students were recently selected from over 300 entries to be a part of the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts Juried High School Art Show. The JHS students selected for the show were: Elise Blomquist, Grace Osborne, Emily Walsh and Sierra Fish.

“It is a great honor to have our student’s artwork selected by a university with an accredited art program, from over 300 works of art sent in by schools across Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties,” said JHS Art Teacher, Brandy Fuller. “It is a wonderful opportunity for our students to get their work viewed beyond our community, and for them to be acknowledged for their talent and skill by other art professionals.”

A panel of judges who selected the top artwork from high schools across the region evaluated the student’s artwork. The artwork selected was created this school year during JCC Drawing and Studio in Art classes at JHS.

JHS is very lucky to offer a number of art courses within the Academy of Communications, Performing and Visual Arts including: Introduction to Art, Studio Art, Advanced Studio, Drawing (JCC credit-bearing course), Painting, AP Studio Art in Drawing, Crafts, Computer Art, Cartooning, Animation, Digital and Traditional Photography.
