JHS Announces 2017 Students of the Year

Congratulations to JHS 2017 Students of the Year!

Freshman:  Alexis Salvaggio
Alexis Salvaggio is a freshman at Jamestown High School. She is the daughter of Joe and Kristie Salvaggio. Lexi is freshmen class president. She plays volleyball and golf. She is a member of Key Club and volunteers regularly. After graduation, she would like to be a pediatrician.

 

 

 

 

Sophomore: Emily Spitz
Emily Spitz is a sophomore at Jamestown High School. She is the daughter of Robert and Deanna Spitz. Emily is a recipient of the 2017 Theodore M. Peterson Chemistry Award. She is a member of the A Cappella choir, plays alto saxophone in the Concert Band and is in the Key Club. Emily is also a member of the Girl’s Varsity Swim Team and was co-captain of the Girl’s JV Softball Team. Outside of school, she is a nine-year member of the YMCA Jets Swim Team and plays Southern Tier Girl’s Babe Ruth Softball. Emily also enjoys volunteering at Zion Covenant Church.

 

 

 

Junior: Andrew Pumford
Andrew Pumford is a junior at Jamestown High School. He is the son of Brian and Lori Pumford. Andrew is a member of both the Varsity Baseball and Varsity Football teams. He takes part in National Honor Society, where he is a co-officer. He was the recipient of the Rensselaer Medal Scholarship as well as an RIT junior scholarship. In the summer, Andrew participates in a travel baseball team and takes part in several volunteering opportunities. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with friends. After graduation, Andrew plans to study human physiology at Harvard University on his path to attending Medical School.

 

 

 

Senior: Martin Dibble
Martin Dibble is a senior at Jamestown High School. He is the son of Bart and Leslie Dibble. Martin is Co-president of Key Club and Astronomy Club. He is also a member of Honor Society and Impact Club. In addition Martin was Co-Captain of the JHS Varsity Cross-Country team and is a member of the Chautauqua Lake Rowing Association. After graduating from Jamestown, Martin will attend Houghton College on an Army ROTC scholarship.
