Community Blood Bank Awards $500 Grant To JHS

Community Blood Bank of NWPA and WNY recently awarded a grant for $500 to Jamestown High Schools for their participation in blood drives during the school year. The JHS Honor Society and CDOS (Career Development & Occupational Studies) students volunteered their time to run the most recent blood drive for the Community Blood Band. Fifty-one students donated blood, which is record number for Jamestown High School.

The $500 grant was part of their Distinguished Donors Program. This year, Community Blood Bank awarded ten of their host high schools with a $500 grant. These grants were given out randomly, with each high school receiving one entry for each blood drive they hosted during the school year.

“The support of JHS staff and students contributed greatly to the successful blood drive that we held with you,” said Nicole Hornaman, Communications and Marketing Coordinator for
Community Blood Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania & Western New York. “Congratulations to all of you on your success and we look forward to seeing all that you achieve in the next school year.”
