JHS Junior Asha DeHarder Receives CLN Award

JHS junior, Asha DeHarder, was the recipient of the Chautauqua Leadership Network’s (CLN) “Student Leader of the Year” award at the annual CLN ceremony at Chautauqua Inn and Suites. Based on her attitude, willingness to serve, extracurricular experience, and volunteer experience, she was nominated by her English teachers, Barbi Price and Julie Morano.

Asha is the first Chautauqua County student to receive this award and was introduced at the CLN breakfast by Mrs. Price who remarked, “I have been teaching for over 40 years, and people my age often shake their heads, click their tongues, and complain: ‘These kids today….’ With young leaders like Asha DeHarder at the helm, we can rest assured that the future will be bright!”

Asha is a member of the JHS Key Club, Raider Reader Book Club, A Cappella Choir and the Red Raider Marching Band.

Other Chautauqua Leadership Network award winners included: Tom Benson “Community Leader of the Year,” Bob Crane “Community Volunteer of the Year” and Jennifer Gibson “Community Development Leader of the Year.”
