Jamestown High School Announces November 2011 Students of the Month
12th Grade: Spencer DeCinque
Spencer DeCinque, the son of Laura and Greg DeCinque, is a senior at Jamestown High School, where he is a member and officer of the National Honor Society and a member of Key Club. As a member of these organizations, Spencer has participated in numerous community and civic activities, such as Read Across America and Special Olympics. Also during his years at Jamestown High School, he has participated in Freshman Wrestling, Varsity Track, Varsity Soccer, and Varsity Football. Spencer has been recognized for his athletic achievements on and off the field, most recently as Co-offensive MVP of the Varsity Football Team, as a Connolly Cup Finalist, as a member of the Western New York Football Academic Team, and as Co-Player of the Year for Division 6 AA South. Spencer was also in Symphonic Band as a freshman and a sophomore, and is in Ski Club. In his spare time, He is a sales associate at the Jamestown Jock Shop, a ski instructor at Holiday Valley Ski Resort, and a member of the Screaming Eagles Ski Team at Holiday Valley. After graduation, Spencer plans to attend college, and possibly play football while majoring in Pre-Med, with aspirations of attending medical school to become an orthopedic surgeon.
11th Grade: Carlos Berrios
Carlos Berrios, a junior at Jamestown High School, is the son of Carlos and Maria Berrios. Carlos is a student that works hard, but asks for help when needed. He also helps class friends and is always a leader. He is a member of the Varsity baseball team, and received an American Legion school award. In his spare time, Carlos likes to work out and help kids that want to play baseball. After graduation, he plans to study team management or architecture landscape design and wants to go to Saint Bonaventure.
10th Grade: Rachael Hummerich
Rachael Hummerich, a sophomore at Jamestown High School, is the daughter of Leo and Mary Hummerich. Rachael is a member of Spanish Club. In her spare time, Rachael volunteers at school events. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in the medical field.
9th Grade: Nigel Eastman
Nigel Eastman, a freshman at Jamestown High School, is the son of Ian and Tara Eastman. Nigel attends Infinity’s 21st century program after school and enjoys playing the guitar as well as filmmaking. He also helps at the Joint Neighborhood Project with S.L.Y.M (Shared Lutheran Youth Ministry) stocking shelves and organizing clothes. Nigel also just likes to hang out with friends. After graduation, Nigel plans to get a degree in media arts and communications. With those degrees he would like to be an independent filmmaker, or work in the field of media.
