JHS February Students of the Month 2014
Jamestown High School is proud to announce its February 2014 Students of the Month – Congratulations!
Senior: Christian Storms
Christian Storms, a senior at Jamestown High School, is the son of Robert and Kathy Storms. He is an avid Sled Hockey player and is currently playing for the Buffalo Sabres Select team. Christian spends his weekends competing in tournaments throughout various states and in Canada. He also plays for and helps coach younger players on the Jamestown Lakers and Erie Otters Sled Hockey teams. Christian aspires to play at the National level and will be trying out for the U.S. National Team this summer. After graduation, he plans to study at Jamestown Community College.
Junior: Matthew Nazzaro
Matthew Nazzaro, a junior at Jamestown High School, is the son of Chuck and Sharon Nazzaro. Matt is a member of the Varsity Football and Varsity Basketball teams. He also is a percussionist in the Concert Band. Matt volunteers at WCA Hospital and is a board member of the Jamestown Youth Bureau. He also works part time at Burger King. In his spare time, Matt enjoys camping and fishing. After graduation, he plans on pursuing an advanced degree in the medical field.
Sophomore: Matt Elia
Matt Elia, a sophomore at Jamestown High School, is the son of Jim and Lisa Elia. Matt is the sophomore class co-Vice President, and is a member of the Jamestown Lakers 16u hockey team and the Jamestown Track and Field team. In his spare time, Matt helps coach younger hockey players in the ADM program and does community service with the Jamestown Key Club. After graduation, he plans to study medicine at the University of Buffalo.
Freshman: Emily Anderson
Emily Anderson, a freshman at Jamestown High School, is the daughter of Tanya and the late Eric Anderson. Emily plays the clarinet in the Concert Band, Marching Band, and the Chautauqua Regional Youth Symphony. She also participates in Mixed Chorus. She has participated in the All-County Music Festival for both chorus and band. She studies voice and the bass guitar at Infinity Visual and Performing Arts. Emily is active in Key Club and volunteers at the Audubon, Children’s Safety Village, and her church. She is also in this year’s JHS musical, Singin’ in the Rain. After graduation, she plans to attend college, but her major is undecided.
