2015-16 Budget Vote & School Board Elections will be held May 19th from noon to 9 p.m. at Jefferson Middle School, Lincoln Elementary School & Washington Middle School for registered voters.


On Tuesday, April 21st, the Jamestown Board of Education approved a proposed 2015-16 Budget in the amount of $77,601,103 for for the public to vote on May 19th. The budget calls for no staff layoffs but 16 staff cuts through attrition, a modest tax increase of 1.5%, along with decreased funding to professional development and overall expenditures. JPS will hold a Public Hearing regarding the proposed 2015-16 Budget on Tuesday, May 12th at 7 p.m. in the Persell Middle School auditorium. The 2015-16 Budget Vote & School Board Elections will be held on Tuesday, May 19th from noon to 9 p.m. for registered voters.


Budget Work Sessions

The Jamestown Board of Education will hold 2015-16 Budget Work Sessions from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3rd, Tuesday, February 24th,  Wednesday, March 18th & April 15th.

The work sessions will allow the opportunity for Board members to receive more information on budget drivers, how they affect the JPS budget, and to provide feedback to administrators before the first 2015-16 budget draft is presented at a future board meeting. The public is welcome to attend the Board of Education’s Budget Work Sessions.
