Persell Middle School Announces  8th Grade Awards

Persell Middle School held their Eighth Grade Moving-up Ceremony on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Principal Philip Cammarata and Assistant Principal Leslie Melquist presented certificates to the eighth graders.  Board of Education members, Patrick Slagle and Shelly Leathers, along with Tina Sandstrom, JPS Director of Schools, congratulated the eighth graders upon receiving their certificates. The following student awards were acknowledged at the Moving-up Ceremony:

Optimist Award – Alyson Edwards & Jonathon Sandstrom

DAR Award – Alica Rensel

NYS Comptroller Award – Nicholas Beach, Delaney Carnahan, Marshall Hallowell and Julia Bertolini

Principal’s Award – James Nary

Kyla Walker was recognized for her dedication and responsibility with daily announcements in the main office.
