Walmart Fletcher Donation

Walmart Donates Gift Cards to Fletcher School Teachers

Ten lucky teachers at Fletcher Elementary School recently received a back-to-school surprise with the donation of $100 gift cards from the Lakewood Walmart Supercenter Store #1973. The donation is part of the national Teacher Rewards Program to help teachers at one school near each Walmart to purchase much-needed classroom supplies.

“Walmart would like to acknowledge the dedication and sacrifice of the teachers of Fletcher Elementary School. We realize that you care for our children and treat them as your own,” said Walmart Store Manager Jim Cheeseman. “We know in these challenging times that you continue to make sacrifices for your students. We know that you will take money out of your own pocket to meet the needs of your students so that they can learn. We salute you.”

Walmart hopes to offset the estimated $500 that teachers spend out of their own pockets for classroom supplies. The Teachers Reward Program will provide $4.5 million to over 45,000 teachers across the U.S. this fall. The Fletcher Elementary School teachers were chosen through a random drawing with the following teachers receiving $100 gift cards: Mindy John, Lori Bird, Anne Sischo, Chris Emley, Ardelle Rambacher, Joey Leone, Chris Case, Darlene Brace, Jaime Damon and Amanda Chitester.

“Fletcher Elementary School is very grateful to Walmart for giving us the gift cards. With the economic challenges that our school and community face daily, a gift like this definitely helps to support the learning that takes place in our classrooms,” said M.J. Fletcher Principal Walt Samick. “Gift cards and the continued support of our Fletcher families will ease some of the everyday needs in these teachers classrooms. Thank you, Walmart!”
